How much does it cost to be seen as a patient at The Health Hut?

While we do accept donations, there is no cost to be seen at The Health Hut. Routine lab work is also covered.

Who is eligible for services?

Adult residents of Lincoln Parish ages 18 and older who do not have any health insurance are eligible for services.

What about buying medicines?

While the patient visit is free, patients are responsible for purchasing their medications. Providers at The Health Hut do their best to prescribe inexpensive, generic medications if at all possible. Prescription assistance programs and donated medications are also available.

What about Medicaid?

The Health Hut recently became a Louisiana Medicaid provider. If you have Medicaid but do not have a local primary care provider, The Health Hut can serve you.

Do you take walk-in patients?

Walk-ins are welcome, though appointments are preferred.

How long will I have to wait for an appointment?

Most of the time, appointments are available the same day.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

A photo ID, any current medications, and your Medicaid card (if applicable).

What is the bus (mobile clinic) like?
-
Many people are surprised to see the inside of the mobile clinic for the first time. The mobile clinic is equipped with two exam rooms, complete with full sized exam tables, exam equipment, sinks, a bathroom, nurse's work area, and provider's work area.
